ð Side Game: Sacred Scrabble of the 250 Words
Purpose: Learn vocab + spelling through cooperation, not competition.
Setup:
-
Choose a “Word List” of ~250 sacred vocab (SAT-level, poetic, science terms, etc.).
-
Each player draws 5 tiles (instead of 7).
-
All players lay their tiles in the same pool (15–20 total).
-
Together, they must form one word from the sacred list.
Rules:
-
No one “wins” — the group “earns” the word together.
-
When the word is completed:
-
They write it down in their journals.
-
Define it in their own words.
-
Use it in a short “monster description” or “farm event” story.
-
-
If the word cannot be formed → they must create a new symbol with those letters, and the GM adds it to the Monster Index as a “wild card lesson.”
Why It Works:
-
Kids learn spelling/vocab through active puzzle play.
-
It’s cooperative → no stress, just co-creation.
-
It ties back into the main game → words become part of lore, monsters, farm design, radio codes.
